An electric forklift is a type of forklift powered by electrical energy, mainly used for operations such as loading, unloading, transporting, and stacking goods.
The following is a detailed introduction to it:
Classification
There are various types of electric forklifts, including four-way electric forklifts, electric pallet stackers, hand-pushed electric lifting stackers, electric tractors, three-point electric forklifts, four-point counterbalanced forklifts, reach electric forklifts, three-point mini forklifts, ammunition counterbalanced forklifts, cold storage - dedicated electric forklifts, electric explosion - proof forklifts, etc.
Working Principle
Battery forklifts use batteries as the power source to drive the traveling motor and the oil pressure system motor, thereby realizing traveling and loading/unloading operations.
Advantages
- Easy to operate: The electric steering system, acceleration control system, hydraulic control system, and brake system are all controlled by electrical signals. The operation intensity for operators is relatively much lighter than that of internal combustion forklifts, which can improve work efficiency and accuracy.
- Environmental protection and energy saving: Electric forklifts have no pollution, no exhaust emissions, and low noise, meeting the requirements of environmental protection and energy conservation. They are especially suitable for places with high environmental requirements, such as ports, warehouses, and industries like tobacco, food, and textiles.
- Low maintenance cost: Due to fewer moving parts such as starter motors and turbines, the maintenance cost of electric forklifts is much lower than that of diesel forklifts. The maintenance cost difference for some models can be as high as 50%.
Daily Operation
- Operating procedures: The speed should not be too fast when starting; pay attention to observing the voltage of the voltmeter, and stop running immediately when it is lower than the limit voltage; it is not allowed to toggle the direction switch to change the traveling direction during driving; traveling and lifting should not be carried out at the same time, etc.
- Matters needing attention: Before lifting, you need to know the weight of the goods and not exceed the rated lifting capacity; adjust the distance between the forks according to the size of the goods to avoid partial loading; when inserting goods into the stack, the mast should tilt forward, and after loading, it should tilt backward, etc.
Battery Maintenance
The battery should be regularly replenished with distilled water. When not in use for a long time, it should be stored fully charged and recharged every 1-2 months; during charging, the charging circuit should be completely disconnected from the chopper; choose an intelligent staged charger to prevent water loss caused by overcharging; avoid storing in a state of power loss, etc.
